What is a STEMist?
College student who teaches workshops and curriculum to 4-H youth around Oklahoma.
Interested in or has experience in education, communications, or youth development.
Individuals with the ability to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to improve the program are sought for this opportunity.
What should STEMists expect?
10-week program with 40 hours a week of learning, developing and teaching content.
Program will run from May 20-July 28, 2026.
Complete program evaluations as assigned by Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development.
Collaborate with other STEMists and Oklahoma 4-H staff members.
Teach hands-on STEM workshops to youth across the state of Oklahoma.
Provide assistance with State 4-H Roundup.
Additional opportunities to produce educational videos, develop curriculum, etc. may be available depending on time and student interests.
What are the requirements for STEMists?
Undergraduate students who are interested in a career in education, communications, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
Driver’s license and ability to travel.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior 4-H experience.
Position is based out of the State 4-H Office, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater Campus
What are the benefits for STEMists?
STEMists will be financially compensated for the summer. Pay will be discussed during the interview.
STEMists will have the opportunity to learn or develop skills in the following areas:
Developing and teaching curriculum
Public speaking and workshop facilitation
Photography/videography/editing
