Florida Farm Bureau Federation is currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Media Specialist. The Social Media Specialist will develop and execute strategic social media plans and campaigns that support the organization’s priorities while maintaining a unified brand, voice, and tone across all social platforms.


Success in this position requires that the employee be self-motivated, exercises independent judgment in determining content planning, audience engagement, and analysis of platform performance. At Florida Farm Bureau Federation, you will be part of the state’s oldest and largest agricultural organization representing 132,000 member families. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic social media plans and campaigns that support the organization’s priorities, mission and vision

  • Manage social media communications during organizational events, advocacy initiatives and emerging issues with discretion and sound judgment

  • Ensure a unified brand, voice and tone across all social media channels including Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram

  • Advise leadership and staff on best practices, emerging trends and digital communication opportunities

  • Analyze social media data and audience insights to develop recommendations that influence communication strategies

  • Create and edit social media content within the established brand, exercising discretion in content selection, timing and messaging

  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with department managers to identify communication priorities and develop integrated digital communication strategies

  • Create and distribute social media toolkits for county Farm Bureaus

  • Conduct social media workshops for county Farm Bureaus

  • Represent Farm Bureau at events as media personnel

  • Provide research assistance on assigned topics

  • Assist in proofreading items for the Public Relations Department

  • Serve as a staff photographer, when needed

  • Perform other duties, as assigned


Requirements

  • Four-year college degree (major study in journalism, public relations or related discipline preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Affinity/Canva programs, and social media monitoring tools, such as HubSpot and Buffer, is essential.

  • Travel within the state or elsewhere may be required to support specific Farm Bureau events.

  • A willingness to work nights and/or weekends may include overnight travel.

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Capable of composing simple correspondence.

  • Effective in presenting information to individuals and small groups, including customers, clients, and colleagues.

  • Competency in applying basic mathematical concepts.

  • Ability to perform mathematical operations relevant to daily job functions.

  • Skilled in solving practical problems and interpreting instructions provided in written, oral, or other formats.

  • Strong proactive mindset and the ability to foster positive experiences for others.

  • High emotional intelligence is critical for building productive relationships with members and team members.
