Job Summary

The Industry Partnership Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth and strengthening strategic relationships that support the association’s programs, publications, and events. This role leads advertising sales for Red Angus Magazine and digital platforms, secures sponsorships for major initiatives such as convention, youth expo, and educational programs, and cultivates long-term partnerships with allied industry companies. The position works closely with the communications, foundation, and leadership teams to develop integrated sponsorship opportunities, demonstrate partner value through clear ROI reporting, and position the Red Angus brand as a premier platform for industry engagement.

Drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships that expand the association’s influence while delivering measurable value to industry partners and sponsors.


Key Responsibilities

Red Angus Magazine Advertising Sales & Revenue Generation – 30%

  • Sell print advertising in Red Angus Magazine and integrated digital advertising packages.

  • Develop bundled, cross-platform marketing opportunities that include print, digital, and event exposure.

  • Prospect, pitch and close new advertising accounts with allied industry companies.

  • Manage annual advertising contracts and renewals to ensure consistent revenue growth.

  • Serve as primary contact person with all advertising and sponsors from prospect to billing.


Sponsorship Development & Management – 25%

  • Secure sponsorship for major association initiatives, including the annual convention, youth expo and educational programs.

  • Develop and implement tiered sponsorship packages that provide clear benefits and brand visibility.

  • Ensure sponsor fulfillment across print, digital and event deliverables.

  • Maintain strong sponsor relationships to support long-term retention and growth.


Foundation & Major Partner Collaboration – 20%

  • Work closely with the association’s foundation to identify and cultivate major gifts and corporate partnership opportunities.

  • Assist in developing customized partnership proposals aligned with organizational priorities and donor interests.

  • Support stewardship efforts that recognize and retain key corporate and philanthropic partners.


Industry Relationship Management – 10%

  • Build and maintain relationships with allied companies, breed supporters and key industry stakeholders.

  • Represent the association at industry events, trade shows and conferences to cultivate new partnerships.

  • Identify and build relationships with emerging companies and strategic collaborators that align with the breed’s mission and audience.


Sponsorship Strategy & Program Development – 10%

  • Design innovative sponsorship and partnership programs that align with association initiatives and marketing goals.

  • Develop cross-platform packages that integrate magazine, digital, video and event exposure.

  • Collaborate with communications and digital teams to ensure cohesive execution of partner campaigns.


Reporting & Partner ROI Evaluation – 5%

  • Track advertising performance, sponsorship deliverables and partner engagement metrics.

  • Create clear ROI reports demonstrating the value partners receive from their investment.

  • Use performance insights to refine offerings, improve retention and strengthen long-term relationships.

  • Industry Awareness & Brand Representation - Understanding of the cattle and allied industry landscape and the ability to professionally represent the association in high-level settings.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, sponsorship development, advertising, or partnership management

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue or sponsorship goals

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills

  • Experience selling print, digital, or event sponsorship packages preferred

  • Experience working with agricultural or livestock organizations preferred but not required

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS*

This position requires:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, operating standard office equipment, and handling digital tools.

  • Ability to view and interpret information on screens and in print.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., event or promotional materials).

  • Ability to travel occasionally and participate in on-site events, including walking and standing for extended periods.

  • Primarily an office-based or remote/hybrid work environment with standard office equipment.

  • Regular use of computers, phones, and digital communication tools.

  • Occasional work outside the office at events, trade shows, production sites, or field locations.

  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to support campaigns, deadlines, or events.
