While DTB AgriTrade is headquartered in Washington, D.C., our Organizational Stewardship & Strategic Partnership Development team operates remotely out of Northern Indianapolis (Noblesville/Carmel/Fishers).

Agricultural Trade Policy Consulting: We provide elite technical expertise in international trade negotiations, compliance monitoring, and the resolution of complex trade barriers (SPS, TBT, and TRQ administration) for global food and agriculture clients.
Organizational Stewardship & Strategic Partnership Development: We serve as the long-term operational and strategic backbone for agricultural associations and coalitions. We provide the professional management, governance, and communication infrastructure that allows member-driven organizations to thrive.
Role Overview:
While DTB is rooted in trade policy, this position specifically supports our Organizational Stewardship side. We are looking for a mid-level professional to provide dedicated, day-to-day association management support for a portfolio of agricultural groups. This role will serve as the operational "hub" for member-facing communications and associations operations, working across multiple organizations with distinct missions, audiences and brand identities.
The Communications and Member Services Manager will take ownership of public-facing communications, ensuring consistency, accuracy and polish across all platforms while managing the administrative communications backbone that supports boards, committees, events and members. This individual is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, sound judgement and attention to detail, translating strategic direction into clear, effective communications and smooth member experiences.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands how associations operate, demonstrates the ability to tailor engagement and messaging to diverse groups, and is proactive in learning the unique perspectives of members and stakeholders. They take personal responsibility for ensuring that all public-facing deliverables are accurate, timely, and reflect the organization’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications & Branding
Multi-Brand Management: Develop, maintain and apply distinct brand identities, tones and voices across multiple organizations simultaneously.
Content Creation: Draft, edit and finalize high-quality communications for newsletters, member alerts, email campaigns, social media and websites.
Digital Presence: Manage social media accounts and maintain association websites, ensuring content is current, accurate and professionally presented.
Email/newsletters: Draft, schedule, QA links, segment lists, send and archive
Web: Update pages/posts; keep event and other content info current.
Social: Create and schedule posts; conduct basic performance check-ins.
Association Administration & Member Services
Platform Management: Own and manage the Glue Up association management system, including event registration, dues, member communication and data integrity. Training and documented processes will be provided; success in this area is driven by attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Governance Support: Support the management of the administrative cycle for committee and board meetings and webinars, including scheduling, setup up and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
Members Communications Strategy: Partner with leadership to develop and execute communication strategies focused on member recruitment, retention and engagement. Create clear messaging and materials that articulate the association’s value and benefits for current and prospective members, and key external audiences.
AMS Lists & Data Hygiene: Maintain member lists in AMS, maintain committee lists, and data hygiene in the AMS.
Targeted Member Communications via AMS: Build and send member communications through AMS (templates, audience selection, basic tracking/reporting).
Meeting Materials & Action Tracking: Prepare and distribute meeting materials and support tracking action items as needed.
Events & Strategic Support
Webinar Management: Lead end-to-end logistics for webinars, ensuring consistent setup, participant troubleshooting, and post-event dissemination of recordings.
Strategic Marketing & Promotion: Coordinate the promotion of events and initiatives to members, ensuring all materials align with the brand identity and tone of the hosting association.
Sponsor Showcasing & Integration: Facilitate the execution of sponsorship deliverables, ensuring high visibility for partners and a professional presentation of their contributions during events.
On-Site & Member-Facing Communications: Manage real-time, member-facing communications during in-person and virtual events.
Webinar Tech Checks & Speaker Prep: Conduct tech checks, support speakers, manage live troubleshooting and handle recording follow-up.
Event Promotions & Member Updates: Coordinate save-the-dates, reminders, day-of information, and post-event recap communications (in coordination with Leadership and the Meetings Team, where applicable).
Sponsor Deliverables Coordination: Coordinate logo placement, slides, acknowledgments, and post-event thanks (in coordination with Leadership and the Meetings Team, where applicable).
Travel Requirements
This position requires semi-annual travel to Washington, D.C. for key organizational meetings in July and November. Occasional additional travel for stakeholder events or firm-wide sessions may be required as needed.
Qualifications:
Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or a related field.
2–5 years of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing, public affairs, association management, or a related role.
Experience managing communications end-to-end (draft → edit → approvals → publish/distribute) across email, web, and social channels.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a command of grammar, tone, and audience-appropriate messaging; familiarity with journalistic style (e.g., AP Stylebook).
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders/clients/brands simultaneously and meet competing deadlines with minimal oversight.
Strong organizational, project-management, and follow-through skills, including quality control for public-facing deliverables (links, dates, names/titles, and formatting consistency).
Strong critical thinking and judgment, including the ability to turn raw or technical information into clear, polished content.
Professional, responsive customer/member service skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, board members, consultants, and external partners.
Experience supporting event and/or webinar communications and logistics, including registration communications and post-event follow-up.
Comfort working in a database or relationship platform (AMS/CRM or similar) and maintaining accurate records (data hygiene).
Preferred Experience
Experience working with trade associations, nonprofits, coalitions, or other member-based organizations (or comparable stakeholder/member-facing environments).
Familiarity with association operations such as membership communications, renewals, event registration, committees, and board support.
Exposure to association management systems (AMS) (e.g., Glue Up or similar) is a plus; DTB provides onboarding, training, and ongoing support for AMS workflows.
Comfort learning new platforms quickly.
Familiarity with common communications tools (e.g., Canva and website/email/webinar tools); specific platforms (Wix/Vimeo/Prezi) are a plus but not required.
