Graphic Design Internship - Edmon Low Library

A collaborative, exciting creative team seeks a Graphic Design Intern who can design for a variety of media and diverse audiences, and is comfortable applying creative aesthetic to a variety of projects. The successful candidate will have work published through various University channels and other paid outlets.


Employment as an intern is on a semester-by-semester basis. Continued employment is contingent on funding and performance. This position is not eligible for internship credit for graphic design majors.


Application review will begin March 24, 2025. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Only complete applications will be considered.


What You'll Do

Intern will design a variety of projects including but not limited to logo development, print and web advertisements and printed pieces for the fundraising efforts at the OSU Libraries. Projects may range from print posters to motion graphics, event programs and centerpieces to gallery-style exhibits. Perform other duties as assigned.


The Graphic Design Intern will work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Hours will be scheduled during Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Some special project hours may be available during the summer depending on schedule.


Required Qualifications

  • Graphic design upperclassmen or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to maintain professional decorum in a team environment based on idea generation, creativity and collaboration.

  • Ability to design multiple concepts for each project and be open to collaboration and feedback from diverse clients.

  • Knowledge of Adobe CC and the ability to work on a PC.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with real-world design constraints.

  • Comfort contributing to the messaging and development of marketing and public relations campaigns.

  • Willingness to appear and/or speak on camera for Library promotional videos.

  • The intern will learn to design within the graphic standards of the parent institution.

  • The intern will learn to apply relevant laws and ethical codes to real life scenarios.
