Position Summary

The Nebraska Corn Growers Association (NeCGA) is seeking a Director of Public Policy to join our team-oriented office to advance the organization’s policy initiatives. The successful candidate for this position will be an energetic, self-starter who will lead the state and federal advocacy efforts on behalf of the state’s largest corn organization.


About

The Nebraska Corn Growers Association is a grassroots commodity organization that is advancing Nebraska corn farmers through leadership, policy and education. Based out of Lincoln, NE, NeCGA is represented on the national level with the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) along with several other state corn organizations. NCGA exists to coordinate the focus, interest and power of their dual membership into a national effort for the corn farmers in the U.S.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Nebraska Corn Growers Association’s policy initiatives on the state and federal level.

  • This position will engage with members and local associations, along with state and national organizations, maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partners.

  • Monitor, communicate and draft responses to regulations and proposed rules that affect Nebraska corn farmers and align with the organization’s policies.

  • Organizational lead for calls to action, new policies, Government Relations Committee

  • Attend local association events throughout the year including but not limited to annual meetings, plot nights and other events to represent NeCGA.


Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has an agriculture background with a bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Prefer 3+ years of post-graduate work experience.

  • This position is based full-time in the Lincoln, NE office.

  • Travel state and domestic required, in varying amounts dependent upon time of year.
