Job Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of the association’s digital presence. This role requires a deep understanding of social media best practices and a commitment to staying ahead of platform trends, algorithm updates, emerging tools, and digital engagement strategies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and strategic, someone who can translate data into actionable insights that drive growth and engagement.


This position owns website management and performance, oversees digital advertising campaigns, and manages the association’s social media channels from content planning through analytics reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining digital assets, coordinating digital ad placements, managing social media content, and continuously evaluating performance metrics to improve reach, engagement, and conversion.


The Digital Marketing Specialist must understand the broader digital landscape, including SEO, email marketing, paid media, and content distribution as well as ensure all digital efforts align with organizational goals. Position requires disciplined organization and a forward-thinking mindset.


Primary Focus

Build the most influential breed digital presence in the beef industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy - 25%

    • Execute a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the association’s communications and growth objectives.

    • Stay current on evolving social media best practices, algorithm changes, emerging platforms and digital trends.

    • Identify new digital opportunities to expand reach, engagement and member value.

    • Ensure brand consistency and strategic alignment across all digital platforms.

  • Social Media Management – 25%

    • Own day-to-day management of all association social media channels.

    • Develop and maintain a strategic content calendar aligned with organizational priorities.

    • Schedule and publish engaging content tailored to each platform.

    • Monitor engagement, respond to inquiries and foster meaningful online community interaction.

    • Track & analyze performance metrics; provide monthly analytics reports and actionable insights.

    • Continuously optimize content strategy based on performance data, audience behavior and organizational goals.

  • Email & Content Distribution – 15%

    • Assist with creation, strategy and deployment of digital newsletters and email marketing campaigns.

    • Segment audiences and optimize messaging for improved open rates and engagement.

    • Ensure digital content is effectively distributed across platforms for maximum visibility.

  • Digital Advertising & Campaign Execution - 15%

    • Execute and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns across relevant platforms.

    • Coordinate digital ad placements and manage affiliate and partner advertising relationships.

    • Track campaign performance and adjust targeting and spend for maximum ROI.

    • Develop performance summaries and recommendations for leadership.

  • Website Ownership & Management - 10%

    • Serve as primary manager of association website.

    • Oversee site updates, content uploads, and overall user experience.

    • Monitor website performance, traffic leads and SEO health.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure website content remains current, accurate and strategically positioned.

    • Recommend and implement website improvements to increase traffic, engagement and conversion.

  • Analytics & Reporting – 5%

    • Analyze social, website, email and advertising data to inform strategy.

    • Deliver consistent reporting and insights to leadership.

    • Translate data into clear recommendations that support membership growth, event attendance, sponsorship value and brand awareness.

  • Collaboration & Organizational Alignment – 5%

    • Work closely with the Director of Communications and other departments to support campaigns, initiative and events.

    • Support digital promotion of conventions, youth program, sponsorship initiatives, foundation, and major announcements.

    • Maintain disciplined project management and organized workflow.

    • Travel as needed for major events.

  • Create, edit, and design high-quality digital content for websites, social media, email campaigns, and promotional materials.

  • Organize and support events, trade shows, and special projects as needed.

  • Maintain attention to detail across multiple projects and deliverables.

  • Write, edit, and adapt content for multiple audiences, including affiliates, boards, committees, and external partners.

  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Adapt quickly to evolving priorities, deadlines, and resource constraints.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, communications, advertising.

  • Extensive knowledge of experience with social media best practices.

  • Experience managing websites, social media and email marketing.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events or production support.
