Texas Water Foundation (TWF) is a statewide, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to lead Texas into a secure water future. Established in 1998, its original objective was to raise public awareness among all Texans regarding the vital role water plays in our daily lives. Today, Texas Water Foundation’s work is focused on water policy, workforce and leadership initiatives, and a statewide water campaign.


The Role of the Content & Social Coordinator

The Opportunity: The Content & Social Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting social media across the Texas Runs on Water and Statewide Water Awareness Campaign, as well as Texas Water Foundation. As the Content & Social Coordinator, you will work with the Senior Campaigns Manager and the Director of Communications to create and execute visual, written, and digital content that engages communities across the state.


Ideal Candidate: A highly organized, creative communications professional who can produce polished digital and print-ready assets while managing day-to-day social media execution across multiple campaigns. They combine strong design and copywriting skills to translate complex information into visually engaging formats, while using scheduling tools, performance metrics, and audience engagement insights to refine content and support broader campaign objectives.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create social media content, including graphics, captions, and short-form copy

  • Design digital assets for website and email campaigns

  • Produce layouts and graphics for reports, policy briefs, and event materials

  • Develop and update templates for recurring materials, including decks and toolkits

  • Execute day-to-day social media activities across SWAC, TROW, and TWF channels

  • Schedule and publish content using Sprout Social

  • Monitor engagement and respond to audience interactions

  • Maintain and implement weekly content calendar

  • Track social and content performance metrics

  • Compile analytics reports for review by Senior Campaigns Manager

  • Support audience growth and engagement across platforms

  • Execute campaign plans set by Senior Campaigns Manager

  • Iterate on revisions based on feedback

  • Assist with website and email updates as needed


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in communications.

  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Canva, and basic web CMS, as well as tools such as Mailchimp, SproutSocial, and Google Analytics.

  • Strong project collaboration skills with the ability to follow timelines and submit deliverables.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to collaborate effectively with a wide range of staff, partners, and vendors.

  • Experience coordinating social media, website content, and digital marketing efforts.

  • Excellent writing skills with an eye for compelling, strategic messaging.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit, government, or public sector communications.

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Texas Water Foundation.

  • Experience in external community engagement.

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with water or environmental issues preferred.

  • Entrepreneurial thinker.

  • Strong commitment to a collaborative, team-oriented organizational culture.

  • Able to work as a W2 employee for a US non-profit.


Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 annually. Texas Water Foundation is proud to offer opportunities for growth as well as a generous benefits package including health insurance, retirement contribution, and paid time off, including maternity/paternity leave. TWF is currently working in a hybrid office environment.
