Communications Specialist II - Texas A&M Forest Service

Job Description

The Communications Specialist II works as part of the Communications team to provide leadership and support of web communications for Texas A&M Forest Service, to include overseeing and maintaining content on the agency's primary websites while working on assigned projects to revamp and revitalize the agency's digital presence in creative, solution-forward ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit and update content and design for high-priority agency webpages, sites and projects.

  • Collaborate with and support the communications team on web projects, including redesigns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Information Resources, public and media relations, social media, photo and video, web, graphic design and others.

  • Develop and support website maintenance, organizational and governance plans.

  • Understand and apply audience analysis and user experience in digital environments.

  • Oversee and evaluate metrics and utilize data to inform decision-making.

  • Appreciate digital communication trends and governance of AI use.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Related work examples (writing, graphic design, video/videography, photography) also need to be submitted in the form of websites or other digital links.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Strong understanding of WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascipt, SEO, accessibility, user experience, digital communication trends and AI.

Required Skills: Attention to detail. Strong organizational skills.

Required Abilities: Ability to translate complex ideas into understandable messages. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
