Description

The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications (ALEC), College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2025. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Assistant Professor of Practice in agricultural communications and journalism (AGCJ) depending upon qualifications. The position will consist of 100% teaching.


The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to ALEC's teaching in the AGCJ program, including courses in digital and print media production, media writing, and strategic communications.

  • Engage industry professionals in identifying course content that is based on cutting-edge communication and journalism

  • Participate in university, college, and department activities and service.


The undergraduate AGCJ program has approximately 200 majors and minors, and the ALEC graduate programs (M.Ag., M.S., and Ph.D.) have about 125 students. Information about ALEC is available at alec.tamu.edu


Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • An earned master’s or doctoral degree in an appropriate communication discipline with demonstrated capability in higher education teaching.

  • At least three years of professional experience related to communications and journalism.

  • Must have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.
