The primary responsibility of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association youth coordinator is to plan, recruit and organize all high school and collegiate experiences.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan, recruit and organize all high school and collegiate camp experiences including the Cattle Raisers Collegiate Conferences, Cattle Raisers Leadership Launch and Cattle Raisers Roundup, seek opportunities for growth
Build from scratch the TSCRA Gilly Riojas Memorial Internship placement program, placing students on ranches and at organizations partnering with TSCRA Leadership Development Foundation
Oversee the Cattle Raisers Convention & Expo student programs including the convention internship program, 4-H, FFA and Texas Youth Livestock Ambassador speaking program, Graduate Research Poster Showcase and other student engagement activities
Coordinate, recruit and execute student professional networking events and seek opportunities for educational and social growth for new and within existing programs
Work with agricultural colleges in Texas and Oklahoma to host college student engagement activities on campus including football tailgates, career fairs, and other speaking opportunities with college campus groups such as Saddle and Sirloin, Collegiate Cattlemen’s, etc.
Write and create youth educational materials, including quarterly newsletter or materials to continue to keep TSCRA front and center for student members
Seek opportunities to grow relationships with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension agents and Texas FFA ag teachers to deepen connections with potential student members
Create and consistently upkeep a scholarship, intern and job board within agricultural industry as a resource to students
Proactively define and effectively convey the value proposition for student members to join the association, and maintain membership for many years
Survey and evaluate student members and determine how to constantly provide value
Assist in building student programs at the direction of the TSCRA Leadership Development Foundation Board of Directors and TSCRA Leadership Development Committee
Help serve as staff liaison to the TSCRA Leadership Development Committee and give reports on high school and college student efforts
Assist in creating and implementing marketing efforts for high school and college events
Additional Job Functions:
Assist with and attend TSCRA events and TSCRA sponsored events
Assist with recruiting TSCRA members
Additional job duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must live in or be willing to relocate to Fort Worth
Must be willing and able to travel
Must be willing and able to work during customary workday and other times including evenings and weekends
Must be a self-starter exhibiting drive and initiative
Must have exceptional communication, writing, organizational and people skills
Must be willing to consent to a background check
Qualifications:
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, agricultural degree strongly preferred
A beef cattle background is not required, but strongly preferred
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Executive Director of Events, Education & Leadership Development
Job Status: Exempt- full time
Compensation Basis: Salary, benefits package
