Position Overview This seasonal role is designed for two college-aged students, particularly juniors and seniors interested in marketing, communications, media, or event production. This position offers hands-on, real-world experience supporting large-scale rodeo events through content creation, marketing execution, and on-site event operations.
Key Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
Assist with marketing preparation and execution for national level rodeo events
Create and post content across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
Write engaging copy for social media, marketing campaigns, and event promotions
Capture photo and video content throughout the event using personal equipment or provided cameras
Edit social media templates, photographyand videography using Canva and Adobe products
Assist with installing and maintaining event signage throughout facilities and arenas
Support event production tasks, including panel setup and on-site branding (zip ties will be your best friend)
Coordinate and assist with sponsor programs and basic sponsor task fulfillment
Work directly with contestants, families, sponsors, vendors, media personnel, and rodeo staff
Respond to real-time needs and problem-solve independently while maintaining brand consistency
Work Environment & Expectations
This is a fast-paced, physically demanding role, particularly during the initial setup period
Long days are expected, with early mornings and late nights throughout the event
Staff should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and being on their feet for extended periods
Candidates must be self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative when tasks are identified
Desired Qualifications
Currently enrolled college student or recent graduate (juniors and seniors preferred)
Interest in marketing, communications, media, or event production
Basic administrative, photography and videography skills preferred
General rodeo or livestock knowledge is a plus, but not required
Strong work ethic, adaptability, and positive attitude in a high-energy environment
Travel & Compensation
Travel, event-related clothing, lodging, meals, and approved work expenses are provided
Personal expenses outside of event duties are not covered
We stay in campers on grounds, so we will ask to share
