Job Description
Join the OSU Career Services team! We are seeking a Student Experience Graduate Assistant – applicants should be accepted in a related graduate program at OSU-Stillwater and be willing to work for at least one year with the opportunity for a second year. Please note, applicants should be willing to work in Stillwater, OK on the OSU Campus in person and begin work in mid spring 2026 semester and/or no later than May 2026 and must be enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester.
Undergraduate Student Eligibility:
Undergraduate students graduating in May 2026 are eligible to apply. Selected candidates may begin employment as a student employee during Spring and Summer 2026 semesters and transition into the Graduate Assistant role in Fall 2026 upon graduate enrollment. Undergraduate student applicants must be accepted into a related graduate program at OSU-Stillwater by the conclusion of the Spring 2026 semester. Undergraduate applicants must be able to work 15-20 hours per week as a student employee.
Student Experience Team Overview:
This team is the newest branch of OSU Career Services that includes overseeing initiatives related to providing and supporting experiential learning opportunities for OSU students. With a focus on student development and skill enhancement, the Student Experience team oversees the OSU Portfolio, Ideal Graduate, IDEAL Edge, non-credit Micro-credentials, InternOSU, student employment and the new campus-wide student mentoring program.
Assistantship Summary:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will play a key role in leading, designing, developing and piloting a campus-wide student mentoring program aimed at fostering meaningful connections between students, alumni and faculty. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program development, project management and student development and assessment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Research best practices for mentoring programs and design a scalable framework tailored to the university’s needs including a strategy for program assessment.
Pilot Implementation: Coordinate and execute a pilot mentoring program, including recruitment of students into the program.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with campus partners, OSU Alumni Association and student organizations to promote participation.
Training & Resources: Develop orientation materials and training sessions for mentors and mentees.
Assessment & Reporting: Collect feedback, analyze outcomes and provide recommendations for program improvement and expansion.
Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, communication and maintaining program pilot records and other duties as assigned.
Education:
Preferred programs and fields include education, human sciences, business, communications, leadership and other related programs. Applicants should demonstrate a career interest in higher education and student development.
Experience:
Working knowledge of Microsoft office, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and organizational skills
Ability to craft clear and professional long form written educational content across various formats including print pieces, curriculum, presentations and website
Comfortable utilizing and implementing new educational program systems and platforms
Curriculum development and design experience with knowledge of program assessment and student learning outcomes preferred
