Events and Junior Activities Intern:
The American Angus Association’s Events and Junior Activities team is offering a summer internship to provide an outstanding opportunity to assist in the events and programs of the American Angus Association. The internship program will provide a college sophomore, junior or senior the opportunity to assist with the planning and execution of junior shows and leadership events.
Eligibility:
Applicants should be a sophomore, junior or senior in college.
Preference will be given to those that have an agriculture related major field of study.
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Communications Intern:
The American Angus Association’s communications team is offering a summer internship that will enhance a student’s market value through real-life, hands-on experience. From print stories to graphic design, photography, video and more, the communications intern will gain multi-faceted agricultural communications experience to enhance their marketability as a young professional. Applicants should have strong writing and design skills and have completed coursework in news and feature writing, editing and design. Experience in photography, video and social media are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Communicate initiatives to Association audience in the form of stories, photos, design, videos, and social media.
Design promotional material, aligning with the brand guidelines.
Write informative news releases, announcements and other promotional materials.
Collaborate with the Communications Team to curate social media strategy for the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS).
Write articles for publications and other content sources.
Assist with marketing and promotional projects for all American Angus Association entities and departments.
Work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details.
Angus Media Publications Intern:
This writing-intensive opportunity offers the chance to participate in producing publications, including the Angus Journal, Angus Beef Bulletin, Angus Beef Bulletin EXTRA, Angus Journal Daily, editorial websites, podcasts and social media. The internship can be tailored to applicants’ strengths, but many duties can be anticipated, including traveling to industry events. Experience in news and feature writing, editing and photography are strongly suggested. The basic template for the internship is as follows.
Intern can expect to:
Conduct producer interviews
Write various types of articles including news story, short feature story, long feature story, personality profile, research article and research summary
(these categories correspond to the ACT Critique & Contest and would give the intern a potential entry in each writing category)
Learn the magazine production process for two distinctly different magazines
Participate in the editorial planning process
Assist in the daily gathering, compiling, proofing that feeds our information outlets
Take responsibility for managing a column
Angus Media Marketing Intern:
The Angus Media Marketing Internship will provide college students with valuable experience in email marketing, graphic design, digital advertising, social media content creation, and data analytics. You will work alongside our experienced team to develop your skills and contribute to real cattle producer’s marketing campaigns and success.
Responsibilities:
Email Marketing:
Assist in creating and optimizing email marketing campaigns.
This includes crafting engaging content, building emails and managing distribution.
Monitor email performance and create reports for all email campaigns.
Graphic Design:
Design graphics for various marketing materials including sale books, print ads for publications, digital ads, social media, etc. Collaborate with graphic designers to develop compelling visuals for campaigns.
Ensure Angus Media brand consistency across all design assets.
Digital Advertising:
Assist in creating and managing digital advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
Optimize ad copy and creative to maximize performance.
Social Media Content Creation and Posting:
Generate creative and engaging social media content for Angus Media.
Take photos and create videos for Angus Media social media channels.
Schedule and post content across various social media platforms.
Respond to social media inquiries and engage with the audience.
Analytic Reporting:
Collect and analyze data from various digital marketing campaigns.
Create reports that highlight key performance metrics and insights.
