Media Internship - American Royal

The American Royal is seeking talented individuals to assist with media coverage at the Youth Rodeo/Field Trip, ProRodeo, 127th American Royal Livestock Show and the World’s Series of Barbecue®. Please include what week/event you would like to be considered for in your application. Travel will not be reimbursed, and the American Royal will be responsible for lodging only. This educational experience pays a $500 stipend.


Eligibility:

  • An agriculture degree program is preferred but not required

  • Applicants applying for the Livestock Media Internship must be comfortable around livestock and horses

  • Applicants should possess excellent communications skills and a strong work ethic

  • Applicants should have access to a professional camera or be willing to rent one

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud a plus


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the American Royal Communications team with media coverage

  • Create and post social media content on proper channels

  • Capture pictures before, during, and after the event

  • Highlight important stories that showcase our mission

  • Capture video content through contestant interviews, performances, etc.
