This internship includes event planning and execution, social media engagement and coverage, publication creation, understanding policy development, and member engagement.
Responsibilities
Help educate and inform WSGA members through social media by interviewing and/or obtaining information from rural Wyoming communities or person(s).
Assist the Executive Vice President conducting research as needed and assist the Office Manager with administrative duties as needed.
Travel to and assist with the Summer Convention, Environmental Stewardship Tour and Wyoming State Fair.
Learn various aspects of the WSGA webpage and membership database.
Develop and disseminate press releases to state and affiliate media concerning different aspects of Wyoming agriculture and WSGA proceedings.
Plan, write and photograph articles that will be featured in the quarterly CowCountry Magazine.
* Must have an open mind to learn various agricultural issues.
Details
Internship is fully in person in Cheyenne, Wyoming (WSGA does not provide housing).
Work hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1 hour lunch break (Office closures, time-off, academic schedule, and travel will be discussed with selected applicant).
Travel and additional work hours during convention and special events will occur throughout the summer (Interns will be notified prior to event).
The internship is a 3-month program; selected candidate will work out summer schedule prior to starting. Approximate start and end dates are May 18th-August 21st.
Pay: $14/hour (two pay periods per month by direct deposit).

Qualifications
Professional and detail oriented
Able to relocate to Cheyenne, Wyoming
Background in ranching or production agriculture (preferred)
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite software, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (preferred)
Experience with photography or willingness to learn
Agricultural Communications major (preferred)
