Marketing & Communications Director Wyoming Stock Growers Association

About the Organization:
The Wyoming Stock Growers Association (WSGA), founded in 1872, represents and advocates for Wyoming’s livestock producers. The organization works to protect the economic, legislative, regulatory, judicial, environmental, and cultural interests of the cattle industry and rural communities. WSGA promotes responsible resource stewardship, animal care, and the production of high-quality beef.
Position Summary:
The Marketing & Communications Director plays a key role in maintaining WSGA’s public presence and ensuring timely and effective communication with both members and the general public. This individual reports to the Executive Vice President and is responsible for all public relations, marketing, and communication efforts, as well as assisting with association events and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and distribute weekly e-newsletters and monthly print newsletters
Write and distribute press releases; manage media relations and photography
Design and produce brochures, flyers, and marketing materials
Develop and place ads across print, digital, and broadcast media
Manage website and social media accounts
Represent WSGA at events, meetings, and conferences
Support and coordinate scholarship and internship programs
Develop an annual marketing and public relations strategy
Report to the Promotion and Enhancement Committee during annual meetings
Assist with planning and executing conventions, tours, and special events
Oversee the Wyoming Environmental Stewardship Program
Coordinate with the Young Producers Assembly and Collegiate Cattle Association
Participate in new program development and grant writing as needed
Provide general office support as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in ag communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
Experience in communication strategy development and execution
Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
Experience with website management and social media platforms
Photography, videography, and basic A/V equipment skills
Creative, organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Comfortable working independently and within a small team
Ability to connect with the ranching community
Willing to travel in-state approximately 30 days per year
Passion for the mission of WSGA
Compensation:
This is a full-time position based in Cheyenne, WY. Compensation includes salary (commensurate with experience), paid time off, health insurance compensation, cell phone stipend, and a matching 401K plan.
