Manager of Corporate Communications - Agribank

Description
As a key member of the Relationship Management team, you will be part of AgriBank's mission to support the people who feed the world. The Manager Corporate Communications manages the AgriBank Communications function in support of the Bank’s strategic objectives through all communications channels, including informing and influencing key audiences such as Association-owners (board members, executive leaders and staff), AgriBank executive leaders and employees, investors, and others. As subject matter expert for AgriBank, this role is current on the latest trends, techniques, and technologies for communications and for developments influencing AgriBank and the Farm Credit System.
Communications Administration and Planning
Develops, leads and implements a comprehensive communications strategy and plan to support AgriBank’s mission, vision and purpose
Collaborates with business partners to develop and maintain the AgriBank Crisis Communications Plan and Business Continuity Plan, and fulfills designated role in crisis situations
Develops and implements communications plans, and provides communications counsel for corporate communications
Manages media relations, including drafting news releases and talking points, responding to media inquiries, coaching spokespersons, and coordinating news release distribution and monitoring
Serves as the Bank’s principal liaison to AgriBank District Association communicators, Farm Credit Council and Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation on communications issues
Executive Communications
Provides communications counsel and support to the AgriBank CEO and other members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), as well as board chair
Produces executive communications deliverables on a recurring and as-needed basis, including CEO messaging to employees and Association-owners, executive meeting summaries, messaging from the board chair, Board Briefs, presentations, talking points, and other communications for internal and external audiences
Financial Communications
Serves on AgriBank Disclosure Committee
Drafts and/or reviews financial communications, including quarterly earnings releases, dividend payouts, and investment calls, and owns and manages the content on the financial information page on AgriBank.com
Produces and manages development of annual report “wrapper”
Plans and manages branding, presentations and other communications for key stakeholder events including AgriBank annual meeting, employee appreciation, and AgriBank District conference.
Supports other financial communications such as rating agency presentations
Strategic Leadership of Internal and Employee Communications
Provides the strategic vision, content architecture, and hands-on execution for AgriBank’s workforce-facing narratives, ensuring employees are aligned, informed, and connected to the corporate mission, vision and purpose. Core focus areas include:
Telling the AgriBank Story: Define and champion the internal brand narrative. Translate complex financial results, enterprise priorities, and business goals into compelling, authentic stories that are clear and actionable in order to connect everyday employee efforts to AgriBank's broader purpose.
Lead communication strategies that support organizational transformation, workforce initiatives, culture programs and enterprise-wide change efforts
Develop and execute employee communication programs that enhance engagement, transparency and alignment with organizational priorities.
Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to communicate talent, benefits, culture and employee experience initiatives
Provides communications support for companywide and human resources recruiting efforts
Provides communications support for companywide and human resources recruiting efforts
Utilize employee feedback and engagement metrics to continuously improve communication outcomes and workforce connection
Develop communication strategies that support talent, technology, operations, risk and business initiatives
Enterprise Change and Employee Communications
Serve as the chief communication architect during organizational transformations, workforce initiatives, culture programs, enterprise-wide change efforts, system rollouts, or policy updates. Author clear, empathetic, and timely messaging that minimizes friction and guides employees through change smoothly.
Communications Channel and Brand
Develops, implements, maintains and monitors communications channels (including email messages, office displays, social media, websites) in alignment with AgriBank brand and strategic messaging
Secures AgriBank investment in communications technology, and manages development and implementation
Coordinates AgriBank visual brand standards, and provides resources and support to employees and vendors
Oversees the AgriBank Writing Style Guide, and provides resources and support to employees and vendors
Provide guidance on sensitive or high-impact communications with employee, operational, or reputational implications
Selects and supervises vendor relationships with freelance writers, graphic designers, web consultants, crisis communication strategists, executive communication coaches and others
Staff Management
Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates the performance of assigned staff
Provides coaching, guidance and developmental feedback to direct reports
Establishes work priorities, assigns responsibilities, and provides day-to-day leadership and direction
Recommends and implements performance expectations and standards

Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism, marketing or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
10-14 years of related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Knowledge
Advanced writing and editing skills
Advanced knowledge of Associated Press style conventions
Advanced corporate communications, including internal communications and financial communications
Advanced public relations, including media relations and social media
Advanced skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with a variety of internal and external individuals and organizations
Advanced knowledge of graphic and web design and website administration
Advanced knowledge of finance
Intermediate knowledge of agriculture and banking
Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Copilot, and emerging AI technologies, with the ability to leverage AI-powered tools to enhance communication effectiveness, content creation, workflow efficiency, and stakeholder engagement
Physical Requirements
