Livestock Media Internship at the State Fair of Texas - Cultivate

We are looking for energetic college students who are willing to jump in with both boots and tackle a little bit of everything at the State Fair of Texas Livestock Publicity Office. From content creation to live streaming, you will experience every aspect of livestock show publicity. The ideal candidate(s) for this opportunity are reliable, a self-starter willing to search for solutions, willing to learn, grow, and challenge yourself while having a whole lot of fun.


Internship Requirements

  • Applicants who are current college sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates are preferred. 

  • Applicants should have their own laptops. If they have they have a camera, the are urged to bring.

  • Be ready to take on a wide array of tasks. We don’t believe in the “that’s not my job” mentality!


Internship Details

  • Interns receive a educational stipend of $75/day, lodging and lunches.

  • Location: Dallas, Texas

  • Positions available September 25 – October 20. Dates are flexible, with options throughout the entire fair. Dates can be found on the internship application.

  • To apply: Complete application and submit a cover letter, resume and work examples/portfolio.

Job Duties

  • Work with our creative team to write content and copy for social media, blogs, feature stories and more.

  • Take candid photographs around the livestock barns to share the State Fair story.

  • Create graphics and content for social media.

  • Create short form videos (reels or tik toks) to showcase stories from the State Fair of Texas.

  • Assist with producing live-streaming content.
