Description

The Communications & Outreach Intern will support day-to-day communication and engagement activities that promote NDCGA’s mission and programs. This internship role is on-site in Fargo, ND, providing hands-on experience working closely with staff and grower leaders. Responsibilities include assisting with social media updates, website content, newsletters, and other member communications, as well as helping prepare outreach materials for events, meetings, and advocacy efforts. The intern may help coordinate logistics for producer events, gather stories and photos from members, and track engagement metrics. The role also involves basic administrative support related to communications and outreach projects, while learning about agricultural policy and the corn industry.


Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise messages for various audiences.

  • Basic experience with social media platforms, email newsletters, and website or blog content management.

  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Interest in agriculture, rural communities, public policy, or nonprofit/member associations.

  • Proficiency with common office and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software).

  • Ability to work on-site in Fargo, ND, collaborate with a small team, and interact professionally with growers and partners.

  • Coursework or experience in communications, marketing, public relations, agriculture, or related fields is beneficial.

  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute ideas to improve outreach and member engagement.
