Overview

Hyer Boots is looking for a Community & Social Media Coordinator to manage day-to-day communications across all social channels. This role is responsible for engaging with our community, handling direct messages and comments on both organic and paid social, managing content scheduling, and ensuring a smooth flow of information between internal teams, retail partners, and external collaborators. Reporting to the Head of Content, this position plays a key role in maintaining our brand presence and fostering strong relationships within the western lifestyle community.



Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Serve as the main point of contact for our online community, responding to messages and comments while ensuring brand voice consistency. Work with CX (customer experience) to direct inquiries to the right channels.

  • Content Calendar Management: Maintain and align the content calendar with marketing, e-commerce, and event initiatives.

  • Content Organization & Distribution: Work with the Head of Content to organize, create, and distribute content across all channels. Maintain content files and drives for internal access.

  • Influencer & Collaboration Support: Assist with influencer partnerships by ensuring collaborators receive product, talking points, and share content with Hyer Boots.

  • Retail & Marketing Activation Support: Help execute social media strategies for retail events, collaborations, and marketing activations.

  • Social Media Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance metrics, report on engagement trends, and keep the team informed about new developments in social media.

  • Industry & Competitor Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify opportunities for cross-promotion and collaborations.

  • Event Support: Occasionally attend Hyer-sponsored events to assist with content creation, setup, and behind-the-scenes coverage.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience building and engaging a social media community.

  • Strong understanding of western life (rodeo, ranching, etc.); existing network in the space is a plus.

  • Excellent judgment and emotional awareness when engaging with customers and the community.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience with camera equipment and settings.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft applications, and in-app editing tools.

  • Ability to manage a high volume of direct messages and comments in an engaging, brand-aligned manner.

  • Flexible schedule for travel and event coverage.

  • Kansas City based candidates preferred.
