Communications Internship and Student Worker - Oklahoma 4-H Foundation

The Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, Inc. is seeking a student worker willing to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 20 – 40 hours per week for the summer to serve as a coordinator of communications and marketing activities for the Foundation. This position provides the opportunity for the holder to play a key role in the public-facing operations of a charitable foundation operating throughout the state of Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, design, oral communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines, and a strong customer service orientation. Although the position does include some fixed office and event time obligations, there is also the potential for flexibility in work times.


Qualifications

  • Position-holder must be enrolled as a student at Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus and maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.

  • Position-holder must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to Oklahoma 4-H events.

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with majors in Agricultural Communications, Strategic Communication, Marketing, or other communications-oriented disciplines.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills:

    • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat; Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

    • Strong proficiency in photography and social media production.


Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare Oklahoma 4-H Foundation marketing materials and correspondence.

  • Assist in photographic and video services for Oklahoma 4-H Foundation events.

  • Coordinate social media engagement and social media marketing efforts.

  • Write feature stories and assist with news releases.

  • Design and coordinate production of digital and hardcopy marketing materials.

  • Draft and distribute special event promotion materials and communications.

  • Ability to communicate and work well with staff and other students.


Preferred Skills

  • Strong ability to interact with current and prospective donors, 4-H staff, volunteers, parents, and members with an exceptional focus on customer service.

  • Ability to grow organizational engagement through coordinated use of website and social media platforms including but not limited to Twitter and Facebook.

  • Be self-motivated, possesses a flexible and collaborative work style while also being capable of working independently.

  • Be able to problem-solve quickly and creatively while preserving relationships with multiple organization stakeholders.


Pay Range

$10.00-$11.00 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience. Start date for this year-long communications internship and student worker experience would be mid-January, 2026.
