Are you passionate about storytelling through media and making an impact on youth engagement? Join the Honors College K–12 Outreach Team at Oklahoma State University for a unique paid internship focused on digital content creation and event marketing. You’ll help showcase several statewide STEAM competitions hosted by OSU, spotlighting student innovations in science, engineering, and environmental research.
This internship offers hands-on experience in capturing and promoting educational programming through multimedia. You’ll work closely with faculty and staff to document events, create engaging promotional content, and share the stories of students and mentors across Oklahoma.
Internship Duration:
Oct 1 – April 30, 2025 (up to 10 hours per week, flexible start/end dates, no work over when school is out of session). Intern ability to attend some full-day and weekend events at OSU is preferred but not required:
Science Olympiad: OSU Invitational- November 1, 2025
JSHS- Feb 20, 2026
OSSEF- Mar 27, 2026
Odyssey of the Mind- Mar 28, 2026
Oklahoma Envirothon- April 17, 2026
Responsibilities:
The Honors College K–12 Outreach Program at Oklahoma State University is offering two paid 2025-2026 internships, contingent on available grant funds. Come work with us on the OSU campus in Old Central.
There are several opportunities to build real-world communication skills while supporting STEM education in Oklahoma. Interns will choose a communication project such as:
Develop and implement a social media campaign for the state science fair network (OSSEF).
Create content for multi-program updates in a newsletter for teachers participating in our STEAM education events.
Prepare graphic media for multiple events, including flyers, sponsor recognition, student awards, and impact reports.
Plan STEAM Expo events with partners and volunteers at OSU and across the Great Plains region.
Design AI technologies for a virtual STEM mentorship application for 5th-12th grade students conducting research
Photograph K-12 events to capture youth in action and receiving awards, as well as sponsor recognition and community albums.
This role offers hands-on experience with event communications, digital media, and outreach to Oklahoma’s STEM education community. This internship is ideal for students eager to build their portfolios, expand their professional network, and make a lasting impact in the world of science and technology communication.
