Videography/Graphic Design Intern - Missouri Department of Agriculture

We are currently looking for a videography/graphic design intern with the Communications Team in the Office of the Director. This internship will work jointly with the MDA Communications team and the Grain Inspection and Warehousing Division. Each day, we work to support and promote Missouri agriculture, including the state’s $6 billion grain industry. A primary focus of the internship is the development of specialized safety training videos for grain division employees.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Grain – visit grain elevator locations and MDA grain offices throughout the state; learn basic safety requirements for grain division staff.
Videography - shoot and edit for website, social media use and various Department video requests, including grain safety training.
Graphic design - create print and website graphics for the Department, including websites, brochures, handouts, signage, etc.
Photography – shoot various photo stories and provide event coverage.
Special Events - help plan and assist with special events, including the Missouri State Fair.
Social media - assist our team in growing our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Flickr.
Writing - support the writing needs of the Department, including news releases, editorial pieces and website content.
Assist with monthly employee newsletter and current weekly e-blast.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a current college student with a minimum 3.0 GPA pursuing a degree in Agricultural Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field
Ability to work on site at the MDA office in Jefferson City and travel to field offices as needed
Valid Driver's License
Proficient videography and editing skills preferred
Proficient at Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Understanding of basic photography and graphic design principles
