Program Partner - Opportunity Orange Scholars

Stillwater, OK • Full-Time


Program Partners (PPs) support OOS students in developing the skills necessary to engage, learn, and succeed in an inclusive learning and social environment at OSU. Those selected for this position must exhibit exceptional skills in time management, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and adaptability. Program Partners must have an academic status of Sophomore or higher at the time of employment. PPs must possess a 2.5 GPA at the time of application and hire. While employed as a Program Partner, a GPA of 2.5 must be maintained. OOS team members help to establish positive, supportive, and inclusive educational and learning environments for all students.


SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Support OOS students in developing and maintaining a weekly schedule to outline academic goals (e.g., readings, assignments, exam prep, etc.)

- Support OOS students in following proper channels for questions/concerns related to academic success and course requirements and assignments, including but not limited to communicating with instructors, accessing tutoring services, or other university departments, etc.

- Support OOS students in accessing all required course materials (shopping at the University bookstore, locating required textbooks, notebooks, materials, online resources, etc.)

- Support OOS students in identifying areas of strength and growth related to communication, social skills, peer engagement, and campus involvement

- Support OOS students with accessing and navigating campus and community resources, including but not limited to transportation systems, shopping, dining, recreational services, and the Colvin Center

- Encourage and support OOS students to develop independent living and learning skills

- Host weekly planning meetings to support OOS students with academic requirements and campus engagement activities

- Maintain all required weekly documentation, and attend weekly OOS team meetings


OTHER OOS STAFF DUTIES:

- Attend weekly staff meetings with the OOS team.

- Engage in the collection of data for academic outcomes.

- Carry out other duties as assigned.
