The intern will work directly with the Executive Director of the Oklahoma State University Animal Science Alumni Association (ASAA), Megan Smith, through constant communication. Intern will work out of Suite 201 in the Animal Science Building and will work with faculty and staff within the Department of Animal and Food Sciences and ASAA Board Members.
The intern will assist with the development, planning and execution of communication and marketing plans for the ASAA and activities throughout the year. Activities include fall football tailgate preparation, spring ASAA Gala Reunion planning, social media and website content, communication to ASAA Scholarship Auction donors, animal science faculty/staff, alumni and friends, processing and maintaining ASAA memberships among other responsibilities as they arise. The internship will provide a broad range of experience including the design of communication and marketing materials for ASAA activities, promotions and events (Board Meetings, Gala Reunion, Tailgate, etc.), social media strategy and event planning related to the football tailgate and Gala Reunion.
The internship requires approximately 15-20 hours per week and is flexible with student class schedule. Internship will be paid.
Applicants must be students in the Ferguson College of Agriculture with preference given to students pursuing a major in animal and food sciences and/or agricultural communications. Intern must be available to assist with set-up for the ASAA Gala Reunion held on April 6, 2024.
Intern experience and knowledge requirements include:
Thorough communication and writing experience
Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook -Experience with social media
Experience with layout, design and Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
