NACS Student Scholarship

Description

Applications are now open for the 2027 National Agricultural Communications Symposium (NACS) Student Scholarship.

The $100 NACS Student Scholarship is designed to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing interests in agricultural communications. The scholarship provides students with an opportunity to engage with professionals, researchers, educators, and fellow students from across the country while gaining exposure to current issues, trends, and career opportunities within the field.

2027 NACS

February 7–8, 2027

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

NACS will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists (SAAS), which will take place February 4–9, 2027.

Eligibility

• Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application. Proof of full-time enrollment may be requested.

• Register for the National Agricultural Communications Symposium by January 17, 2027.

• Attend the 2027 NACS to receive the scholarship.

• Submit a complete application by the deadline and follow all application guidelines.

Application Requirements

Applicants will respond to the following five questions, with responses limited to 250 words or fewer per question.

1. Describe your involvement and experience in agricultural communications. This may include coursework, student organizations, internships, employment, research, leadership positions, or other relevant experiences.

2. What are your career aspirations and how do you see agricultural communications contributing to your future professional goals?

3. How will attending the National Agricultural Communications Symposium contribute to your academic, professional, and personal development?

4. What expenses do you anticipate incurring while attending the National Agricultural Communications Symposium? Please identify any additional sources of financial support you expect to receive (from your institution, advisor, etc.).

5. Have you previously attended the National Agricultural Communications Symposium? If yes, please indicate the year(s) attended and briefly describe how the experience benefited you.

Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Chair and Co-Chair. Applications will be evaluated based on applicants' experiences and engagement in agricultural communications, career interests and goals, the value they expect to receive from attending NACS, and anticipated expenses.

Important Dates

• Application Deadline: December 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

• Scholarship Recipients Notified: January 4, 2027

• NACS Registration Deadline: January 17, 2027

• NACS: February 7–8, 2027, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

How to Apply

Applicants should use the dedicated scholarship application template to prepare their responses. Completed applications must be submitted as one PDF document and saved using the following format: lastname_NACSscholarship.pdf. 

Applications should then be submitted through the NACS Student Scholarship Application Google Form.
