Multiple Internships - North American International Livestock Exposition

Overview

The North American International Livestock Exposition is seeking several individuals to serve as general livestock and media/communications interns for the show. 


Two sessions of internships will be offered. The below dates show the earliest and latest dates for those sessions (dates may vary depending on internship program selection):

  • Week 1 (Nov. 5-11)


    o Dairy Goats/Boer Goats: Nov. 5-9


    o Swine: Nov. 5-10


    o Dairy Cattle: Nov. 5-11


  • Week 2 (Nov. 11-21)


    o Beef Cattle: Nov. 11-21


    o Breeding Sheep: Nov. 11-21


    o Market Goats/Market Lambs: Nov. 11-21 


Two different paid internship programs are available: General Livestock Intern and Media/Communications Intern. 


Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree or pursuing a four-year college degree is preferred (comparable work experience may be substituted)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Livestock knowledge required

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Outstanding customer service

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills

  • Capable of working with and setting priorities among stakeholders, volunteers, and others while promoting the overall interest of NAILE.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to complete occasional physical tasks such as lifting and carrying required.


General Livestock Intern Responsibilities:

  • Livestock Show Data Entry

  • Proof and Sort Awards

  • Prepare Livestock Show Results

  • Assist Livestock Managers with day-of show demands

  • Other duties as assigned


Media/Communications Intern Responsibilities:

  • Capture photos and create relevant videos for social media (Facebook, Instagram)

  • Daily content planning meetings

  • Share content and captions throughout the show

  • Schedule/plan content for post-show days

  • Write human interest stories for the NAILE website

  • Professional photography equipment and personal laptop is required

  • Access to editing software is preferred

  • Prior livestock photography experience is preferred

  • Other duties as assigned
