Multiple Internships - American Angus Association

Internships available:

  • Marketing Intern

    • You can only learn so much from a textbook, come get hands on experience with the world’s leading beef breed organization! The Angus Media Marketing Internship will provide college students with valuable experience in email marketing, graphic design, digital advertising, social media content creation, and data analytics. You will work alongside our experienced team to develop your skills and contribute to real cattle producer’s marketing campaigns and success. 


      The successful candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate level student majoring in agricultural communications, animal sciences or journalism/communications. Applicants should display leadership skills through academic and extra-curricular activities while demonstrating an excitement and passion for Association work and the cattle industry. Previous management or oversight of business social media accounts is preferred. The internship spans from approximately late-May to mid-August at the American Angus Association headquarters in St. Joseph, Mo., just north of Kansas City. Some travel and weekend work will be necessary. Specific start date will be determined based on the applicant's availability. 

  • Events & Junior Activities Intern

    • The American Angus Association’s Events and Junior Activities team is offering a summer internship to provide an outstanding opportunity to assist in the events and programs of the American Angus Association. The internship program will provide a college sophomore, junior or senior the opportunity to assist with the planning and execution of junior shows and leadership events. 


      The internship will provide training and work experience in association work. The internship will start on or around May 11 and go through the first part of August. With some variation in the starting and ending date depending upon the availability of the person hired for the internship. An earlier start date is preferred. 


      Travel to assist with junior shows and events would be expected and be part of the internship. The internship would include travel to the National Junior Angus Show, LEAD Conference as well as to other shows depending upon the need for assistance with the shows. 


      The intern would be expected to assist with the daily in-office preparation for the National Junior Angus Show, contests, LEAD Conference, correspondence, communications and any other work as assigned. 

  • Communications Intern

    • Interested in fine-tuning your graphic design, writing and photography skills? Wanting an immersive internship that'll make you stand out in a future career? Ready for an impactful and exhilarating summer, learning new skills with customized internship goals? 


      The American Angus Association’s communications team is offering a summer internship that will enhance a student’s market value through real-life, hands-on experience. From print stories to graphic design, photography, video and more, the communications intern will gain multi-faceted agricultural communications experience to enhance their marketability as a young professional. Applicants should have strong writing and design skills and have completed coursework in news and feature writing, editing and design. Experience in photography, video and social media are preferred. 


      The successful candidate will be a college junior or senior studying agricultural communications, journalism, or related fields. Applicants should display leadership skills through academic and extra-curricular activities while demonstrating an excitement and passion for Association work and the cattle industry. 


      The internship spans from approximately late-May to mid-August at the American Angus Association headquarters in St. Joseph, Mo., just north of Kansas City. Some travel and weekend work will be necessary. Specific start date will be determined based on the applicant's availability.
