Multimedia Producer - Oklahoma State College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive unit featuring world class instruction, research, extension and online learning. We are seeking a Creative Communications Specialist to join the CEAT Marketing and Communications team. Our team works closely with the leadership of the college to develop and implement appropriate content across multiple communications platforms in order to highlight the college within the OSU community, as well as the state, region and country.

The Creative Communications Specialist will create and incorporate graphic design and layout elements for multimedia efforts on the web, social media, brochures, magazines, newsletters, ads, flyers, posters, special projects, and related materials. They will join an experienced creative team in the department of Marketing and Communications for OSU’s College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and report directly to CEAT’s Marketing and Communications Manager.

The successful candidate must be highly creative and self-motivated. They must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people, such as faculty, staff, students and alumni. They must demonstrate excellence in customer service principles, including friendly, professional communications, timely follow-up and prompt responses.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and incorporate graphic design and layout elements for multimedia efforts on the web, social media, printed media, special projects, and related materials.

  • Execute exceptional print and digital-based designs that are precise, creative, and meet accessibility requirements.

  • Create copy for marketing materials, print and news.

  • Work with a team to develop campaigns with respect to create/graphic design elements, message, and content creation, as well as overall audience strategy.

  • Shoot and edit promotional video for distribution, demonstrating self-direction, creativity, and strategic thinking in developing college video content.

  • Design and plan marketing photoshoots for the college, serving as photographer for marketing shoots.

  • Provide photography support at college events as needed.

  • Process, edit, and distribute photo assets for the college.

  • Maintain and oversee college monitors and content.

  • Assist the CEAT Marketing and Communications team with high level events.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School/GED

  • Five years professional experience. Post-secondary education can substitute for years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications, Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field.

  • Three years of experience in communications, including but not limited to graphic design, writing, video, print and electronic content creation and/or related tasks/projects. Experience in academic setting.

  • Experience in graphic design, marketing, and public relations.

  • Experience in photography; experience with tagging, editing, and digital file storage is a plus.

  • Experience in video creation for incorporation into web, email and social media.Experience in AP writing style.

  • Proofreading to ensure accurate and high-quality work.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines independently and within a strategic communications team.

  • Ability to work within existing brand guidelines and designs to deliver cross-platform materials relevant for a variety of audiences.

  • Basic knowledge of creating content that meets accessibility best practices is a plus.
