Mid-South Farm & Gin Show Intern

We are excitedly looking forward to the 2026 Mid-South Farm & Gin Show in Memphis Friday & Sturday, February 27 & 28 (Thursday, February 26 as a setup and prep day). The event has long had an educational focus and organizers and we've involved interns for the past two years to include a communications education component. 


This intern (potentially two interns) will be involved in planning meetings with the communications team as we discuss content gathering and publication during move-in day and two full days of programming. Not only is it a chance to get experience on the resume, it's a chance to get experience at one of the South's preeminent farming events working with professional ag communicators. 


What the job entails:

  • Generating content to be used in real-time as well as to be synced to MSFGS cloud accounts for use promoting future shows. 

  • Interviewing participants at the show about their experiences.

  • 3 days gathering content on-site at the Renasant Convention Center (February 26 - 28, 2026).

  • Advance planning meetings with the communications teams from the gin show (includes team members from Southern Cotton Ginners, Farm Progress / Delta Farm Press and consultants working with the show). 

  • Hotel accommodations and a stipend of $700 will be provided for the intern(s) hired. 


The ideal candidate:

  • Be seeking a journalism, mass communications, agricultural communications or related degree. 

  • Works well with a team and independently both. 

  • Have a mobile device and/or video equipment that will make it easy to capture photos and video. 

  • Have an interest, education and/or experience in social media production.


Applications will be open til November 30, 2025 with interviews starting in December.
