Media & Marketing Internship - National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA)

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is seeking a passionate and driven individual for our 2025 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® Media & Marketing Internship, held in Fort Worth, Texas, October 2-18, 2025. This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious events in the western performance horse world.


Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • A strong interest in the western performance horse industry

  • Knowledge of reined cow horse, or experience with horse shows, is preferred but not required

  • Confident interviewing skills-comfortable speaking with riders, trainers, and industry professionals

  • Ability to write clear, compelling articles on a short, day-of, deadline

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced event environment

  • Experience with Canva and the Adobe Suite is preferred but not required


Daily Tasks:

  • Conduct interviews with riders following high-scoring runs, division championships, and other notable achievements, as well as potential human-interest profiles

  • Utilize quotes and insights from these interviews to write engaging articles for the Reined Cow Horse News Daily email newsletter, distributed to all NRCHA members during the event. Most articles will be written on the same day, approved that evening, and published the following morning, requiring the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Social media content creation, including posting reels, short-form videos, or live stories that capture the excitement and authenticity of Reined Cow Horse Capture photography and videography content to support daily event coverage and to build an archive of assets for future NRCHA use

  • Assist with organizing and tagging photo and video assets


Additional Media Opportunities: Depending on skills and interest, interns may also be involved in:

  • Photography coverage of the event

  • Graphic design assistance

  • Video interviews and short-form content

  • Assisting with editing highlight reels or promotional video clips for social media

  • Supporting on-camera work for event coverage or behind-the-scenes segments

  • Helping coordinate athlete and sponsor media requests

 

Due to the length of this internship, dates must be approved by an academic advisor or professor(s) in advance. There will be availability for an intern to complete coursework throughout their time at the show; all project deadlines and/or exams need to be reported to the NRCHA Hiring team in advance.


Internship Details:

Dates: October 2 - 18, 2025

Location: Fort Worth, TX (Will Rogers Memorial Center)

Compensation: Hotel is provided, as well as a daily food stipend
