The Marketing Graduate Assistant for Oklahoma State University Career Services supports the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives designed to increase student engagement, employer participation, and campus awareness of Career Services programs and resources. This position collaborates closely with Career Services staff to create compelling digital and print content, manage social media channels, support promotional campaigns, and analyze marketing performance metrics.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and data-informed, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced higher education environment. This role provides hands-on experience in higher education marketing, brand management, and strategic communications.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Digital Marketing – 35%
Develop engaging content for social media, email campaigns, website updates, and digital signage
Create graphics, short-form videos, and promotional materials aligned with OSU brand standards
Assist in writing and editing marketing copy for events, programs, and employer initiatives
Maintain content calendar and ensure timely publishing across platforms
Assist with photography to ensure visual consistency across projects while helping showcase our services to the broader university community.
2. Social Media Management & Engagement – 20%
Manage and monitor Career Services social media accounts
Track engagement metrics and recommend strategies to increase reach and interaction
Respond to comments and messages in alignment with department guidelines
Identify trends and opportunities to enhance student engagement
3. Campaign Support & Event Promotion – 20%
Support marketing campaigns for career fairs, workshops, employer events, and signature programs
Coordinate promotional timelines and materials for major initiatives
Collaborate with campus partners to cross-promote events
Assist with on-site event marketing coverage (photo/video capture and live posting)
4. Marketing Analytics & Reporting – 15%
Track and analyze marketing performance metrics (email open rates, social engagement, website traffic)
Prepare monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations
Conduct audience research to inform campaign strategies
5. Administrative & Collaborative Support – 10%
Participate in marketing and Career Services team meetings
Assist with project coordination and workflow tracking
Support special marketing projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment in a graduate program at Oklahoma State University (Marketing, Communications, Strategic Communication, MBA, or related field preferred).
Experience with Sprout Social or similar social media management platforms and analytics tools
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
