Job Description


About the Role

OSU Career Services is seeking a creative, driven and detail-oriented graduate assistant to support marketing and communications efforts during the 2024–2025 academic year. This position focuses on website management, social media strategy, storytelling through written content and video content creation (especially Reels) to help promote career development resources, programs and events. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the Career Services team to engage students, alumni and employers through compelling content and digital storytelling.


Primary Responsibilities


1. Digital Media & Content Creation

  • Develop and execute creative social media strategies across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and Twitter/X

  • Film, edit and produce engaging video content including Reels and short-form interviews or event highlights

  • Design and edit digital and print materials (flyers, brochures, digital signage, etc.)

  • Create dynamic email marketing campaigns

  • Capture event photography and video footage as needed


2. Website Management

  • Manage and update content on the Career Services website to ensure it remains accurate and aligned with university branding

  • Collaborate with staff to build new web pages and enhance the user experience based on analytics and feedback

  • Maintain consistency in visual and written content across digital platforms


3. Campus Engagement & Event Marketing

  • Support the promotion and execution of career fairs, workshops and employer events

  • Assist with outreach efforts through class visits, student org presentations and tabling events

  • Help maintain a pulse on student trends and feedback to influence content strategy


Qualifications

  • Admittance to an OSU graduate program and availability for the full academic year

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, agricultural communications or a related field

  • Experience with social media strategy and content creation (especially short-form video)

  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

  • Web content editing experience preferred (knowledge of CMS platforms preferred)

  • Knowledge of AP Style and strong writing skills

  • Photography and videography experience preferred

  • Organized, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
