Manager, Consumer Marketing - Texas Beef Council

SUMMARY

The Manager, Consumer Marketing, is responsible for increasing consumer trust and brand affinity for beef by overseeing all high-impact, consumer-facing initiatives. This role is directly responsible for spearheading the coordination and execution of major in-person events (such as Beef Loving Texans’ educational workshops and State Fair activations) and driving holistic brand and community engagement efforts. Key responsibilities include managing the Beef Loving Texans' ambassador program and online store, forging high-impact brand partnerships, and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines across all consumer touchpoints.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions that the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Develop and implement innovative experiential branding, creating and executing impactful consumer events, including key programs such as the Beef Loving Texans’ Smoke Labs, Grilling 101s, and State Fair activation.

  • Cultivate and manage high-impact brand partnerships that amplify the Beef Loving Texans' message and drive consumer engagement.

  • Lead the Beef Loving Texans’ ambassador program, including the development and execution of communication and engagement strategies, and the coordination of annual ambassador events.

  • Manage program contractors to implement annual consumer promotion programs effectively.

  • Manage the success of the Beef Loving Texans online store, curate a compelling selection of merchandise, and oversee procurement, merchandising, and promotions.

  • Manage relationships with merchandise and fulfillment vendors and negotiate favorable terms.

  • Drive online store traffic and conversions through effective marketing strategies.

  • Play an integral role in annual program planning, including developing and recommending the annual brand activations and the Beef Loving Texans merch store budget.

  • Manage all financial aspects of brand activations and the Beef Loving Texans merch store, including budget tracking and invoice processing.

  • Analyze marketing data to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Serve on the brand team to ensure adherence to the brand guidelines and coordinate logo distribution and tracking across all program areas.

  • Stay informed about the latest marketing trends and best practices to optimize consumer marketing campaigns and experiences.

  • Collaborate with other departments to align marketing efforts and provide marketing support as needed.

  • Serve on Texas Beef Council cross-organizational teams to advance the organization’s mission.

  • Engage with producers and producer-led committees as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • EXPERIENCE - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or communications.

  • SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES -

    • Communication & Leadership: Team player with excellent writing, planning, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to collaborate and cooperate with diverse groups and personalities.

    • Brand & Creative Management: Demonstrated understanding of brand identity, visual design principles, and creative development processes, with the ability to clearly articulate creative needs and provide constructive feedback to design and agency partners.

    • Project Management & Event Execution: Detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-directed, with strong organization and prioritization skills, including the ability to coordinate and track the logistics of multiple projects and consumer events effectively.

    • E-commerce & Digital Marketing Proficiency: Expertise in e-commerce platform management, digital marketing strategies, and proficiency in using web analytics tools to drive online store performance.

    • Financial & Vendor Management: Proven negotiation and vendor management skills. Experience with budget management, financial tracking, and basic accounting principles for monitoring program and store financials.

    • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools relevant to marketing and e-commerce.

    • Technology Proficiency: Basic-level computer skills, particularly with GSuite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom, and Adobe.

    • Continuous Improvement & Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about the latest marketing trends and best practices to optimize consumer campaigns.

    • Commitment & Flexible Availability: Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to support events and accommodate periodic heavy workloads. Demonstrates the capacity to learn quickly, adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, and perform effectively under pressure. Exhibits a high degree of loyalty, dedication, and commitment to TBC and the beef industry.
