Journalism Intern - High Plains Journal

Remote • Closes May 1

High Plains Journal has a freelance internship available for June, July and August. We are celebrating our 75th year as a trusted source of information for farmers and ranchers. We are based in Dodge City, Kansas, that covers 12 states in a multi-media format including print, digital and newsletters.

We’d like an intern to write a cover story and help with event coverage of Cattle U June 25 in Manhattan, Kansas; and Sorghum U and Wheat U Aug. 13 in Wichita, Kansas.

The intern can work remotely. He or she would need to provide his or her own computer and camera. Ideally we’d like to have two print stories and two web items a week. We would be open to having two interns if one wanted to focus on print and the other on digital.

We reimburse based on story length and photo contributions. (Mileage reimbursement is 47 cents a mile). Application deadline closes May 1.
