Rural Gone Urban Scholarship

Closes March 18

The Rural Gone Urban Foundation is excited to announce applications for the 2025 Rural Gone Urban Scholarship will officially open on March 11, 2025 and close on March 18, 2025. Designed to support women pursuing education through trade school, college, or university, this scholarship continues the foundation’s mission of investing in gritty and hardworking students.

To make the application process more accessible, we are releasing the full list of application questions ahead of time, giving students the opportunity to prepare before the one-week application window begins.

Who’s Eligible?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Identify as a woman pursuing higher education through trade school, college, or university.

  • Be a U.S. citizen.

  • Have been accepted into an eligible program (proof of acceptance required).

  • Apply on their own behalf – parents, this one’s not for you!

What You’ll Need to Apply

To help applicants prepare, here’s what will be required:

  • Short Essays

    • Tell us your story. Tell us your challenges, your successes, your aspirations. You can share as much or as little as you like in terms of personal details. We simply want to get an idea of who you are and where you want to go with the help of this scholarship.

    • What do you see as the biggest obstacles -- not including financial needs -- in attending an educational institution?
