About Us: Professional Oklahoma Educators is a non-profit, non-partisan, education association passionate about Oklahoma education and providing excellent service to our statewide membership. We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Full-Time Communications Assistant. If you’re a self-starter with a flair for creativity, strong writing skills, and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!


Position Overview: As our Communications Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our marketing efforts across various channels. This position requires a versatile individual who is adept at using Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and WordPress. You will be responsible for creating engaging social media content, and assisting with a variety of different events. Your creativity, flexibility, and proactive approach will be essential in helping us achieve our marketing goals. This is an in-person job opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop and design visually appealing content for social media platforms, including videos and written posts which will engage our members while informing prospective members and donors about POE. Ensure all content aligns with our brand voice and strategy. 

  • Event Support: Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of POE and POE Foundation events. Provide on-site support and manage event-related tasks. 

  • Website Management: Update and maintain the company’s WordPress website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and up-to-date. 

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Communications Director and POE office, including answering phones, data entry, and report presentation. 

  • Creative Input: Contribute ideas and suggestions for marketing campaigns and initiatives. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continually enhance our marketing efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience: Previous experience in a marketing or creative role preferred, but not required.

  •  Skills:

    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva

    • Strong writing and editing skills with an attention to detail

    • Experience with WordPress and basic HTML/CSS knowledge

    • Comfortable with social media platforms and best practices

    • Basic photography skills and familiarity with photo editing software

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Pay & Benefits: Salary range is $40,000-$50,000 per year, with full POE benefits
