Extension Intern - Payne County OSU Extension

Position Overview:

The Payne County OSU Extension internship provides college students with a hands-on learning experience in Extension programming. Interns will gain insight into the duties and responsibilities of an Extension Educator while actively contributing to impactful community programs. Each intern will be assigned one or more special projects to develop and administer, fostering skills in leadership, communication, and program management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing Extension programs across various disciplines.

  • Engage with community members, stakeholders, and volunteers to promote Extension initiatives.

  • Develop and administer a special project aligned with Extension goals and community needs.

  • Support youth and adult education efforts, including workshops, camps, and outreach events.

  • Contribute to social media and marketing efforts to enhance public awareness of Extension programming.

  • Represent Payne County OSU Extension in a professional and positive manner at meetings and events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in Extension education and community outreach.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in youth development, agriculture, family and consumer sciences, or related fields is a plus.
