Director of Consumer Sales - Smarty Rodeo

Mount Pleasant, TX • Full-Time

The Director of Consumer Sales will be tasked with influencing and executing the growth within the storefront, events, and e-commerce channels of our business. The Director would be managing inventory, merchandising, promotional strategies, and marketing collaborations.  


The candidate will be a strategic and growth-oriented leader with proven success in floor and eCommerce business. The ideal candidate must possess industry knowledge and understand how to optimize store performance and experience scaling and driving revenue for an established brand retailer with a multimillion-dollar scale. In alignment with Smarty Rodeo culture, the candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and be comfortable operating and navigating through ambiguity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving website merchandising, web operations, and customer relationship management.

  • Lead and manage the Smarty Supply Company’s dedicated team

  • Drive the long-term DTC Smarty Supply Company eCommerce, Events, and In-Store vision, strategy, and team priorities laddering up to the business segment strategic plans.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team and operational partners to drive a best-in-class customer experience in-store and on the e-commerce sites. 

  • Represent the consumer’s voice by leveraging purchase insights to drive meaningful change and post-purchase satisfaction.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to generate traffic, optimize search, and ensure that the sites deliver the best shopping experience, including promotional testing and execution.

  • Audit the floor and websites regularly to identify opportunities for potential improvements and enhancements to ensure best-in-class practices and experiences.

  • Analyze site performance to continuously improve key site metrics.

  • Play a pivotal role in driving the team’s engagement and cross-functional collaboration with the Business Segment, Marketing, Finance, Digital Technology, Customer Service, and Analytics team.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct-to-consumer and eCommerce-related work experience required.

  • Proven success in leading a team to develop a comprehensive business plan that is integrated across multiple consumer touch points, including at point-of-purchase.

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and category strategies.

  • Interpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively partner with and influence at all levels throughout the organization across various functions and geographies.

  • Strategic thinker who creates a compelling vision for the organization and charts the path to realize it.

  • Creative thinker who unlocks hidden value in the business by capitalizing on key business drivers, consumer trends, and insights.

  • Brings balanced approach to long-term goals and short-term objectives; ability to anticipate and plan for future opportunities and consequences.

  • Agility to pivot as the digital landscape evolves; sets clear direction for organization in times of ambiguity.

  • Comfortable with taking calculated risks to capitalize on new opportunities.
