Promotes the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and Marked For Greatness Properties, LLC (MFGP) core values and key initiatives through strategic, proactive and engaging stories shared through the organization’s digital communications channels. This individual works collaboratively with the organization’s other staff members to brainstorm and develop new ideas to promote, preserve and provide meaningful experiences with Paint Horses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
General
Create and manage APHA and MFG’s daily social media content calendar, manage social media channel strategy, monitor metrics and report results.
Lead content creation for APHA and MFG’s digital communication channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, website and other channels.
Analyze traffic and report on key performance indicators, including engagement and exposure each month.
Compose timely, engaging and original copy and create visual graphics for APHA and MFG’s website, social media channels and print materials as needed.
Coordinate with Director of Marketing and Creative Design to craft strategic, cohesive messaging across print and digital platforms.
Monitors innovations in electronic communications and reports on these developments, pushing the team forward in new channels, ideas and outreach.
Supports the organization’s communication and content strategy by producing written, digital, video and audio content, as well as providing photography, videography and social media content.
Maintains digital content library of APHA and MFG events and organizes digital assets.
Serves as staff photographer and videographer representing APHA and MFG at events in coordination with Director of Marketing and Creative Design.
Skills Required
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites, including Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere or Rush to produce engaging digital elements.
Knowledge and experience in social media, video, graphic design and other digital communication platforms.
Strong written communication skills, including writing clear, engaging content for publication with a journalistic approach and integrity.
A working knowledge of emerging media.
Knowledge of the horse industry and timely issues is preferred, but not required.
Experience with photography and videography is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to speak and hear.
Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel frequently.
Ability to reach with hands and arms frequently.
Ability to sit for long periods.
Ability to stand and walk occasionally.
Ability to see small numbers and figures and work for extended periods on computer.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds continuously and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers).
Light employee traffic.
Exposure to heat and/or cold temperatures at shows.
Exposure to dust and dirt at shows.
Exposure to animals at shows.
