Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or related field; or associate degree combined with applicable work experience.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and emerging design tools such as Figma and Canva.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with web design fundamentals and accessibility standards.
Experience designing and managing marketing email campaigns using platforms like Click Dimensions or similar tools are preferred.
Experience with motion graphics and video editing using software like Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects is a plus.
Photography and editing experience are a plus, including capturing high-quality images and using editing software to enhance visual content.
Demonstrated ability to:
Develop high-quality, modern graphic design projects that include print, digital, and multimedia work.
Work with a variety of marketing platforms and quickly adapt to new design technologies.
Successfully take multiple projects from concept to completion while maintaining attention to deadlines and details.
Possess strong communication, project coordination, and scheduling skills.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback to refine and enhance designs.

Essential Job Functions
The Graphic Designer position requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and technical proficiency to create visually compelling materials that support Meridian’s communication and marketing efforts. This role ensures brand consistency and helps other design team members as needed.
Leverage creativity and strategy. Develop innovative design solutions that align with branding guidelines while addressing various marketing objectives. Produce materials such as invitations, brochures, booklets, digital ads, email campaigns, presentations, and social media graphics. Ensure designs are optimized for multiple platforms and responsive across devices.
Manage projects effectively. Coordinate multiple incoming project requests, prioritize tasks, and execute designs efficiently to meet deadlines. Maintain project workflows using collaborative tools like Teamwork.
Stay current with design trends. Continuously explore industry best practices, emerging digital design trends, and new software capabilities. Adapt workflows to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
Enhance digital engagement. Design visually compelling digital and social media content, incorporating animation, video, and interactive elements where appropriate. Assist with website updates and user interface enhancements.
Create and manage marketing email campaigns. Design and implement marketing emails using Click Dimensions or similar platforms, ensuring brand consistency and optimization for engagement.
Provide exceptional client service. Work collaboratively with campus departments to understand their design needs, recommend creative solutions, and ensure timely project delivery. Maintain strong professional relationships and clear communication throughout the design process.
Demonstrate initiative Proactively introduce fresh ideas, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to strategic discussions about brand development.
Expand multimedia capabilities. Support photography, video production, and basic animation projects as needed to enhance marketing efforts.
Work with vendors and production teams. Possess knowledge of commercial printing standards, including color theory, paper selection, and finishing techniques. Collaborate with external printers and vendors to ensure accurate production quality and cost-effective solutions.
Design for environmental applications. Develop large-scale graphics for environmental branding, including wall graphics, window clings, signage, and vehicle wraps, ensuring high visual impact and consistency with brand standards.
Maintain professionalism. Represent the organization with a polished, professional demeanor. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the Meridian Technology Center Board of Education. Uphold confidentiality standards and brand integrity.

Adapt to evolving needs. Perform additional duties as required to contribute to the success of the marketing department and overall institution. Serve on committees and attend meetings, professional development and conferences as assigned by the Executive Director or the Superintendent/CEO.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM or 5 PM with the option of a 30-minute or one-hour lunch break. Occasional after hours events will need support.
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing as much as 30 pounds.
Standards of Performance
The Graphic Designer will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities in accordance with the Meridian Technology Center Performance Review Guidelines. These evaluations will determine salary increases and career advancement possibilities.
