Description
The person in this role will carry out a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced office that requires attention to detail, meeting deadlines, independence, flexibility, a positive attitude, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Oversee and create content for social media. Use analytics to develop and execute strategic campaigns that increase awareness and engagement. Monitor social media comments and inquiries.
Write copy for press releases, social media, webpages and various marketing materials. Develop strong relationships on campus to identify and tell the Meridian story. Have strong attention to detail and ability to edit, proofread and write with accuracy.
Work with internal campus client partners to provide marketing direction, coordination and guidance to assist with fulfillment of projects, while ensuring deadlines and client requests are met. Approach your work with a strategic mindset for promoting Meridian and making marketing procedures more effective and innovative.
Create graphics for a variety of applications and kiosk content on campus.
Photograph and video events, students, employees and interviews for use across marketing and communications channels.
Assist with after-hours events as needed. Cross-train on other job functions within the marketing department, including supporting crisis communications efforts.
Stay at the forefront of the communications and marketing field by seeking professional development opportunities.
Maintain inventory and assist with marketing departmental ordering. Work with vendors, order equipment, and process invoices and registrations.
Utilize work time efficiently between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and report any exceptions to the Executive Director. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the MTC Board of Education. Promote Meridian Technology Center, its programs and employees at every available opportunity.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or appropriate certificate of training preferred.
Strong knowledge of AP Style and excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills that ensure grammatical accuracy.
Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and editing software such as Canva or Adobe.
Willingness to learn new technology.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
High level of confidentiality required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience capturing, producing and editing video content for social media, marketing campaigns, interviews, events and other communications purposes.
Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns that increase awareness, engagement and participation, with the ability to use available data and analytics to inform strategy and measure results.
Experience managing social media platforms and using analytics to inform content and marketing strategies.
Demonstrated success with photography, photo editing, graphic design, and coordinating employee headshots.
Candidates may be asked to complete a writing assignment and social media analysis.
