What is the OSUCDD?
The OSU Center for Developmental Disabilities (OSUCDD) elevates the land-grant mission by learning from and working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and supporters to enhance the quality of life for all. OSUCDD provides education and training to students, professionals, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and family members. It promotes social and community inclusion by increasing opportunities for mutually beneficial relationships between individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. OSUCDD also contributes to the growing body of knowledge regarding the inherent value, complexities, and diversity of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family members. Two specific programs within the OSUCDD that the Communications Intern position will support are Opportunity Orange Scholars (OOS) and OSU Unified. OOS is a non-degree seeking, academic certificate program for students with intellectual disability. OSU Unified provides and supports opportunities for adult Special Olympics Athletes to compete alongside Unified Partners (OSU students, faculty and staff) in a variety of sporting events hosted by OSU Intramurals.
