Accessible Social Media Intern - OSU Department of Wellness

This position is a part of the InternOSU Program. Along with fulfilling standard job responsibilities, you will participate in OSU Career Services professional development activities.


The Accessible Social Media Intern for OSU Accessibility programs will receive a variety of communications experiences for programs that serve individuals with disabilities across the state of Oklahoma. The intern will work directly with the Accessible Communications Coordinator and team to support the goals of the OSU Accessibility Programs social media endeavors, including:


  • Crafting audience-centric messaging and distributing content in various formats and channels across diverse audiences for four OSU programs.

  • Developing media to accompany messaging, including photo, video, and graphics.

  • Monitoring and managing social media content and platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok), responding to comments, messages, etc., and ensuring posts are duplicated to the ABLE Tech website when necessary.

  • Producing accessible digital content that meets or exceeds Federal 508 and/or state accessibility standards. Training in accessibility practices will be provided.

  • Utilizing Asana project management software to track tasks and project progress, and Microsoft Teams for file management.


This position will also have the opportunity to help plan and attend TechAccess Oklahoma, the state's premier digital accessibility conference; as well as complete self-paced training courses on digital accessibility and marketing topics.


A successful application will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, work well with teammates in a fast-paced environment, be passionate about attention to detail, and possess excellent organizational skills. AP-style writing experience is a plus. Basic graphic design skills are preferred, but not necessary.


The OSU Accessibility Programs team members are knowledgeable and diverse individuals who have a wealth of experience in many different areas. Team members describe our work environment and culture as fast-paced, collaborative, and solution-oriented. As this position would be interacting across teams within the programs, the service-based experience gained through this internship would be valuable in many facets.
