As a member of the OSU Agricultural Services unit, this individual serves as the television producer/director for the half-hour broadcast production SUNUP, as well as a member of the unit's video team producing other media products on behalf of OSU Agriculture for broadcast and digital delivery platforms. In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate must be detail oriented, adaptable, adept at multi-tasking and a self-starter. The individual must be able to work as part of a team under strict deadlines, while maintaining flexibility in ever-changing situations. Requires some travel, travel budget provided.
Shoot, edit and organize video and audio for the weekly half-hour production agriculture program SUNUP, and other associated media productions. Work with the team to determine the show’s editorial direction, develop rundowns and coordinate with subject matter specialists. Log, transfer and organize raw video. Develop, write and produce news-style feature packages. Appear as an on-camera interviewer and as substitute host. Work with production team to finalize broadcast master. Produce graphics for television and online media. Maintain strict adherence to broadcast and digital standards. Train and supervise student workers, entry level video colleagues and freelancers as necessary. Archive and repackage materials for online delivery. Distribute materials to outside partners via broadcast and other media. Properly utilize and maintain video equipment. Work with the unit’s video production manager to determine equipment and operational priorities and needs. This highly visible position requires interacting with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization. The duty reporting station is on the OSU campus in Stillwater. This is an exempt position (which indicates that the position is exempt from overtime pay/comp or personal time accrual). Regular office hours are 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 p.m. According to OSU policy, a 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for exempt staff and you are expected to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week when the workload requires additional hours (to include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends). Duty reporting station is in person on the OSU Campus Stillwater, Oklahoma.
