Ag Communications Internship Overview

This position will work closely with our communications team to contribute to real client work. The Ag Communications Intern will be responsible for a broad range of support for Cultivated Conversations and our clients. This is a remote position. Clients include the National Institute for Animal Agriculture, Merck Animal Health, U.S. Custom Harvesters, Inc., The Kansas City Agricultural Business Council and more.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Prepares printed and online content, including press releases, webpages and social media.

  • Gathers data and analyzes trends to draft client reports.

  • Prepares presentation decks for client meetings and conferences.

  • Drafts copy for client and internal documents (newsletters, client training materials, articles), develops presentations, copy, proofreads, edits.

  • Provides event and meeting coordination support.

  • Approximately 10 hours a week

  • Hourly rate: $14/hour

Placement Criteria

  • Minimum of a Junior standing in a Bachelor’s or similar 4-year degree program in a related discipline, or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience preferred.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.

  • Adobe Creative Suite abilities are an added bonus.

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally, and provide exceptional service, both internally and externally at all times.

  • Ability to work and report to supervisor remotely.
