Social Media Internship – Harvest Returns

Position Summary

Harvest Returns is seeking a creative individual with a passion for digital marketing that will fill the position of Social Media Intern in Fall 2021. This role requires knowledge of branding, graphic design, and creative writing to produce a strategic approach to social media marketing, which will be planned and implemented through the following social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. The Social Media Intern will be responsible for communicating and strategizing a comprehensive social media marketing plan for a few different audiences. This position requires a strong understanding of how primary social media platforms are used as marketing channels, and the importance of content marketing in today’s media-driven culture.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, develop and create content for social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) and assist with day-to-day account monitoring

  • Work with marketing department to conceptualize and pitch ideas for social media

  • Assist with media monitoring and reporting of social analytics

  • Provide customer service to social media followers in a timely and professional manner

  • Support the marketing department with content marketing by sharing blog posts with the potential to write content if desired


  • As of Fall 2021, current college student at Junior or Senior level seeking a degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related degree – finance/investing or agriculture industry knowledge a plus OR military veteran with experience in journalism or communications specialty

  • Excellent ability to communicate in person, print and electronically to variable audiences

  • Writing and copyediting experience

  • Experience with developing messages for social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)

  • Able to self-manage time and work, as the position is remote

  • Complete work during traditional work day hours (9 am – 5 pm)

  • Commitment to providing 15-25 hours of assistance per week
