The Pollinator Outreach Coordinator works on a variety of statewide, urban and rural outreach and community engagement activities in support of approved tactics and provides administrative and/or program support for The Nature Conservancy and the OMPC. The Pollinator Outreach Coordinator will work closely with communications staff to accomplish their objectives. This is a grant-funded, full-time position lasting through September 2022.
The Pollinator Outreach Coordinator will work towards meeting objectives of the chapter by implementing educational opportunities for landowners, businesses, municipalities, schools, organizations and other entities to create pollinator habitat through the implementation of strategic engagement and outreach plans. They will ensure chapter participation in strategically selected external events to help raise awareness about the plight of pollinators and need for more habitat, coordinate activities such as volunteer habitat projects, present at public events and conferences, and manage responses to requests and inquiries from the public. The Coordinator will also provide consultation to entities interested in creating habitat. They must be well versed in monarchs and other native pollinators, as well as native wildflowers and milkweed; and be able to effectively communicate this knowledge to the public.
