NAFB Convention Internship – National Association of Farm Broadcasting

Virtual • Nov. 18-20

Planning is in full swing for 2020 NAFB Virtual Convention (November 18-20, 2020), including accepting student applications for the 2020 NAFB Social Media Corps (SMC).

Every year, NAFB’s Convention brings together broadcast professionals, ag industry leaders, and students focused on the agriculture industry. The NAFB Convention is a great opportunity to connect with industry peers, brush up on professional skills, and learn more about opportunities and challenges impacting the U.S. farmer and rancher.

The NAFB SMC internship is a unique opportunity where three students are selected to help NAFB tell the stories of our annual convention, in real-time, through NAFB’s various digital platforms. Selected students work with an industry communications professional along the way and are tasked with leading the creation, execution, and facilitation of engaging social content and community discussion that translates the convention experience to our NAFB members and fellow agriculture industry leaders. It is truly an immersive agriculture communications experience.

Qualifying applicants should possess the following:

· Candidates must possess strong writing skills with the ability to follow AP style guidelines.

· Candidates must feel confident with conducting interviews/getting sound bites via Zoom or other video platforms.

· Video editing and/or graphic design skills are a plus. (but not required)

Students who wish to apply must submit the following materials to NAFB Marketing & Communications Manager Erin Nash at by Friday, October 16:

· Resumé

· Cover letter

· Three (3) writing samples that show grasp of agricultural background and/or AP style guidelines

No late applications will be accepted.

NAFB hopes advisors will encourage their students to apply for this one-of-a-kind learning experience, which also is a great resumé and portfolio builder.
